Rob Pigott is originally from suburban New Orleans, LA. He is a graduate of the
University of Southern Mississippi and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography
(with an emphasis in Cartography and Remote Sensing). While at Southern Miss, he
enjoyed courses in Urban Planning as part of his curriculum. Those Urban Planning
courses helped to foster Rob’s interest in the revitalization of urban areas to their full
Rob’s federal career began in 1988 in Louisville, KY, as a Cartographer with the Defense
Mapping Agency. In 1994, Rob’s job transferred him to the Washington DC area. In
2001, Rob transitioned over to the Federal Aviation Administration, where he currently
serves as an Aeronautical Information Specialist.
Rob has resided in the 16th Street Heights neighborhood since July of 2011 and
immediately saw much potential in the commercial areas near his new residence.
Therefore, Rob has proactively sought out opportunities to make positive changes in the
community around him. Rob is a charter member of the Community Alliance for Upper
Fourteenth Street (CAUFS), where he serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors.
Rob’s hobbies/interest include: Digital Photography (Landscape and Wildlife), travel,
gardening, hiking, and anything Mid-Century Modern.
